With our sights set towards the final weeks of 2020, we cannot believe the time has come for us to issue another update! If you missed our last one, we introduced you to one of the newest members of our team, Todd Porter, who is the new VP of content studio for Blok Party. Todd is already hard at work optimizing and enhancing existing content and we cannot wait to share more about what he is working on with you in future updates. 

 

Just as the seasons bring about change, here at Blok Party, the time has come for an exciting new chapter. We’re writing to you today to let you know that before this year comes to a close, our team will retire the name “PlayTable” as we believe now is the time to look towards the future. Going forward, the digital board game console many of you know as “PlayTable” will be renamed and we’re thrilled to announce that effective this month, the new name we’ve chosen is…..(drumroll).....TapTop! In any and all communications from Blok Party, and in all social media posts, the product formally known as “PlayTable” will henceforth be known as TapTop.    

 

Now, we’re certain there are some questions but please allow us to address what we consider to be the top few that might come to mind: 

 

Q: So, what does this mean exactly? Is “PlayTable” dead? 

 

A: Nope! Not at all, it simply means that moving forward, our team will use the name “TapTop” to refer to the product. 

 

Q: Will I still get the “PlayTable” I pre-ordered?  When will it arrive?

 

A: Yes! Our team remains hard at work manufacturing the incredible number of pre-orders we received. We’re working our tails off to begin shipping all remaining pre-orders in just a few weeks.  While we’re doing our best to get some units shipped in time for the holidays, at the moment it looks like the majority of units will start shipping in January, 2021.  We'll be sending out some more emails in the coming weeks asking those of you with unfulfilled orders to finalize shipping details, so please keep an eye out for those.  If you’ve missed our previous updates about our fulfillment timeline and the causes of the delays this year, please take a look at this newsletter from August, which includes a video from our CEO, John Dempsey. Q: I already received my device, do I have to stop calling it “PlayTable”?

 

A: We do not have any agency over what you do within your own home; however, just know that our team will refer to the product as “TapTop” in any and all communications from this point forward.  If you ask us a question about “PlayTable” we’ll know what you mean but the new name for the product is “TapTop”.  

 

Q: Why are you telling me about this? 

 

A: We’re very excited about the new name, and we hope you are as well!  We wanted to be sure we effectively communicated our intention to retire the “PlayTable” name as we look towards the exciting future Blok Party has in store.  We also wanted to make sure to avoid any confusion if and when you notice our website, social media, and contact information change from “PlayTable” to “TapTop” or simply “Blok Party”.
